When is Spring Break 2027: Find your schools week

Short version: if your school runs a standard spring semester, you're breaking sometime between late February and early April 2027. Almost half of all U.S. students land in one of two weeks — March 6–13 or March 13–20. Wherever your school falls, Maniac has you covered in Panama City Beach, Fort Lauderdale, and South Padre Island, and none of the three need a passport to get to.

Colleges don't sync up on spring break the way they do on things like the academic calendar's start date. Each school builds its own schedule around its own semester, and depending on where the semester starts, that pushes break earlier or later in the March window. Add in Easter timing for religious schools and coordinated systems like the UC or SUNY schools that break together across every campus, and you end up with five distinct pockets of time instead of one shared week.

The Five Break Windows for 2027

Feb 27 – Mar 6
Goes first
Only a small group of schools, University of Florida being the biggest name. You'll beat the rush, but most of the country is still in class.
Mar 6 – Mar 13
The big one
Over 200 schools break this week — Michigan, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame, UNC among them. Book ahead or expect lines.
Mar 13 – Mar 20
Right behind it
Nearly every Texas public school, plus the Big 12, Ohio State, Alabama, Tennessee, USC. This is South Padre's real week.
Mar 20 – Mar 27
Later crowd
Mostly quarter-system and West Coast schools — UC campuses, Stanford, MIT, Wisconsin. Smaller share heads east or south.
Mar 27 – Apr 3
Last to go
Cal State, CUNY, Cornell, Missouri. Everything's still running — and the weather's about as good as it gets by then.

Don't know your week offhand? Your registrar's academic calendar page will have it — most schools post next year's dates well over a year ahead of time.

The Case for Not Waiting

Maniac's pricing model doesn't fluctuate wildly by demand the way flights do, but access does. Here's what actually pushes people to lock things in early, especially for the two heaviest weeks.

01
Venues have a ceiling
There's a real cap on how many people a club lets in on a given night. Get your card early and you're on the list, not the sidewalk.
02
Shows fill up fast
Cardholders get free concert entry, but it's first-come. A sold-out show is sold out even if you're holding a Maniac card.
03
Prices only go up from here
Maniac pricing climbs as spring break gets closer. The earlier you buy, the less you pay.

Three Places, No Passport Required

Panama City Beach. The one that started it all, still going strong — miles of open beach and the densest strip of party venues you'll find anywhere, including Harpoon Harry's, Longboards, and Hammerhead Fred's. Easiest destination to drive to from the Southeast or Midwest, and typically the cheapest. See what's happening in PCB →

Fort Lauderdale. Same free-entry Maniac model, more polished setting — Rock Bar and Backyard anchor the scene right on the Atlantic, and March weather here rarely lets you down. See what's happening in Fort Lauderdale →

South Padre Island. The Texas option, and the default for most of the Big 12 and Texas public schools breaking March 13–20. Clayton's Beach Bar is the center of gravity here. See what's happening in South Padre →

Common Questions

So when exactly is spring break 2027?
It depends entirely on your school, but the window runs late February through early April. If you had to guess without checking, March 6–13 is the safest bet — it's the single most common week.
Do any of Maniac's destinations require a passport?
None of them. PCB, Fort Lauderdale, and South Padre are all domestic U.S. destinations.
How many days of access come with a package?
A full 7 days, timed to line up with your destination's break week.
What actually separates Card, VIP, and Black?
Card is the entry point — day parties and a handful of clubs. VIP opens every club until midnight plus some event access. Black is the whole thing: line skip, VIP areas, food and drinks covered, every club all night, every concert.
Is there a best time to actually buy?
Sooner is always better here. Prices increase in stages as spring break gets closer, particularly for the two busiest weeks.
Is there a payment plan?
Yes — $20 down and the balance spread over up to 3 months, no interest and no credit check.

Figure out your week first. Then grab your Maniac package before the good spots are gone — and before prices climb.
